Every child deserves the opportunity to learn.

Equal Hope Foundation works in the Uganda to reach those children who are missing out most on learning. We support the most vulnerable children through education, helping them to get the most from their time at school and providing a foundation for a productive and happy future.

Having in mind the benefits of attending school and receive an education, the costs involved in sending children to school in Uganda are prohibitive for the majority of slum residents.

The general cost of scholastic materials such as uniforms, pens, writing and text books, pencils, shoes and others brings about a large number of children losing hope of attending school. Poverty levels make it extremely difficult to develop any savings and often money for school fees is instead spent on greater needs such as food.

Education means opportunities and empowerment. Through supporting education, we are giving children the means to obtain necessary skills that will give them a better future in life.

What we do to prevent

Millions of children in risk of losing out on their education.

We help children get ready for kindergarten and learn to read by third grade — a major indicator of future success. We’re especially focused on reaching vulnerable children in rural Uganda and some suburbs of Kampala where early learning resources are scarce. We ensure that no child’s learning stops because they are caught up in crisis.

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, over 258 million children were out of school, including over 130 million girls. And even when children were at school, many were not learning. The world’s children deserve better.

For the first time in human history, an entire generation of children globally have had their education disrupted. And yet, this emergency comes on top of an existing learning crisis. Even before the pandemic struck, millions of children were not going to school and not learning.

Be Part of the Change

We, while together can educate these children and get them out of the poverty, street life and make them live again!
